Happy Tuesday! I wanted to share the details of our recent ski trip. Since this was a quick weekend getaway, we needed to choose wisely and make the most of our time. We decided on Park City, Utah. Park City Mountain is a short 30-45 min drive from Salt Lake City (SLC) airport making it an ideal destination for us. The boys were eager to get started and were snowboarding within hours of arriving. I, on the other hand, headed for the Park City shops. I will share details in my next post.
I always look forward to discovering new restaurants and coffee shops when we travel. I find that in my forties a good cup of coffee is just as important as a good dinner! Our first reservation was at Riverhorse on Main, and it was definitely my favorite. We were seated in their covered balcony and enjoyed our meal while watching the snowfall! The food was terrific, and the setting couldn’t have been more beautiful! On another day, Braxton needed his pizza fix, and we headed to Vinto’s Pizzeria for lunch. We must have been starving because we ate 3 huge pizzas. Our last reservation was at Café Terigo Italian Restaurant. My favorite item on the menu was the lamb chop. They were tender and juicy and just amazing! In the evenings as the temperature dropped, we stopped for hot chocolate and coffee. Of all the little coffee places I tried, my favorite was Atticus Coffee & Teahouse. They make a fantastic caramel macchiato, and Braxton agreed they had the best hot chocolate in town! It was the perfect spot to sit, warm up, and enjoy our last night.
On our way to the airport, I am listening to Alex and Braxton cheerfully describe all their mountain adventures with a smile and a noticeable rejuvenated spirit. I’m reminded of how much we needed nature to decompress from the hustle and bustle of daily life, even if it is just for the weekend!
